STEPHENVILLE (May 29, 2015) — Tarleton State completed a women’s basketball recruiting class comprised of five high school standouts Friday, when head coach Misty Wilson announced the signing Decatur guard Shelby Drews.
Drews, 5-9, averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game to earn All-Wise county MVP honors and a spot in the Chicken Express-Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce All-Star Classic. She was a four-year letter winner and three-time first-team all-district selection.
“Shelby has a great knowledge of the game and a good 3-point shot that she gets off quick,” said Wilson, according to a release from Tarleton Athletic Communications.
After going 17-10 in their first season under Wilson as head coach, the TexAnns are also welcoming incoming freshmen Karah Sicurella of Sunnyvale, Shelby Mankins of Joshua, Catherine Okwilagwe of Garland and Nia Jackson of Mansfield.
