STEPHENVILLE (June 2, 2015) — Associated Press Sports Editors 2014 All-State running back Kaegun Williams is leaving Stephenville for Cedar Hill.
New Stephenville head coach Greg Winder said he communicated with Williams over the weekend and spoke to Cedar Hill head coach Joey McGuire on Monday. Cedar Hill has won consecutive state championships in what is now 6A Division II.

“I have not seen any paperwork, but I spoke briefly with Joey McGuire and he told me Kaegun’s mom had accepted a job there,” said Winder Tuesday morning.
Williams rushed for more than 1,600 yards and had almost 1,300 receiving in 2014, helping Stephenville to its fifth straight state quarterfinal appearance. He was a major factor in a state semifinal run in 2013, rushing for more than 1,000 yards as a freshman. The Class of 2017 prospect already holds an offer from SMU.
Williams also played varsity basketball and baseball at Stephenville, helping both programs reach the playoffs the last two years. He competed in 7-on-7 for Stephenville as recently as May 23, helping the Yellow Jackets punch their ticket to the state tournament through the McGregor qualifier.
