Stephenville (June 3, 2015) – Sunday, April 26, will be a date that many Stephenville residents will remember.  After all, our area was surrounded by tornadoes, and it escorted in one of the most devastating seasons of severe weather that the Cross Timbers area has ever seen.

Choices Clinic & Life Resource Center (Choices) will remember the storms as the one that destroyed their clinic.  That evening the storms ripped the roof off of the shopping center in which Choices Clinic was housed.  Thankfully very few items were destroyed, and the clinic was moved into the Choices Life Resource Center location by Tarleton University.

“Our goal was to eventually move both locations under one roof, but the storms moved up that timeline greatly,” explained, Ashley Graves, executive director of Choices.  “It has been a blessing to have our entire team together.  However, the limited space we are accommodating can not be a long-term solution.  We are going to need the entire community’s support to get this project complete.”

At the 20th Annual Choices Banquet last October, the Choices Board announced the future for the ministry, that included a Building Campaign.  That evening over $80,000 were raised towards a future facility, and since that time, more donations have followed. So last month, Choices Clinic & Life Resource Center was able to purchase the land for their future home.  Located on Harbin Street next door to the Pizza Place will one-day be the permanent location for Choices.

“We believe that this location offers visibility to the community, privacy for our clients, and close proximity to Tarleton,” stated Milo Choate, Board President of Choices.  “The facility will be over 4,500 square feet with a private parking area in the rear to protect the privacy of all of our clients.”

Choices Clinic & Life Resource Center is a Christian ministry opened in 1994 dedicated to preserving the value of human life by providing abortion alternatives, practical assistance, and education to the Cross Timbers area. They offer free pregnancy testing, peer counseling, parenting education, abstinence education, practical support, and more services.
