STEPHENVILLE (June 29, 2015) — The annual Friends of the Dick Smith Library book sale is set from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, in the basement of the Tarleton Center.
Hundreds of “new” used books, with a variety of fiction and nonfiction titles, will be on display in the basement of the Tarleton Center as well as audio CDs, vinyl records and textbooks. All hard-bound books are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents.
For $15, customers can buy a tote bag filled with books of their choice. Cash and checks will be accepted, and credit card purchases can be made until 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the book sale allow the library to acquire resources outside its normal budget. In the past, conference room furnishings, display cases, artwork, and equipment for student use (scanners, fax machine) have been purchased with book sale proceeds. Available books are usually duplicates, out-of-date or not within the library’s collection development guidelines.
Visitor parking is available in lot P3 between the Welcome Center and the Tarleton Center on McIlhaney Street and lot P9 across the street from the Welcome Center and Hunewell residential hall.
