STEPHENVILLE (June 30, 2015) — Stephenville expects to have a new head baseball coach in place by July 20.

That’s when the SISD Board of Trustees hold their next regular monthly meeting, and athletic director Alan Haire believes he will have a lone finalist to present by that date.

“We are continuing to take applications through the week,” said Haire. “Then we’ll sort through them and determine who we would like to interview as we try to find the best possible candidate to lead our athletes.”

James Boxley resigned on Friday, June 19, after five successful seasons in Stephenville. He led the Yellow Jacket baseball program to five straight playoff trips including the regional finals for the first time in 2013. Boxley has been named head coach at 6A Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler.

The 2015 Yellow Jackets reached the area round of the 4A playoffs and fell to eventual regional finalist Venus.
