STEPHENVILLE – Another door swung open for seven Stephenville area students on Saturday evening. A very important door.

Stephenville’s BreAnna Nicole Crim, Brittany Shea Miller, Tyler Taegel, Tammy Grace Whitfield and Emily Renea Yarbrough, as well as Dublin’s Blanza Elizabeth Lopez and Hico’s Bethany Leann Cortez were among more than 20 students to receive cosmetology degrees during commencement services for the Ranger College School of Cosmetology this past weekend. In all, a total of 21 students from across the state were presented degrees during a ceremony held at the Cowboy Church of Erath County on Aug. 7, 2015.

“It was exciting,” said Crim, the 19-year-old daughter of Patsy Burken and Mike Burkeen of DeLeon. “It was a lot fun. We got a chance to meet a lot of great people and learn a lot of different things.”

A 2014 graduate of Stephenville High School, Crim said she plans to work at Glamour Shots in Fort Worth after a short break.

Taegel is the 18-year-old daughter of the daughter of J’Cle and Lenny Taegel of Stephenville. Yarbrough is the 21-year-old daughter of Patricia Ansley of Dallas and Westley Clayton of Desdemona. Both Taegel and Yarbrough are graduates of the Huston Academy in Stephenville.

Whitfield is the daughter of Clifford Greene of Breckenridge and the late Erma Havard.

Ranger College President William Campion praised Crim. Miller, Taegel, Whitfield and Yarbrough, as well as all of the other graduates, for completing the cosmetology program, saying it will open new doors and opportunities for them in their future.

“These events are very special because they mark the opening of new doors in our lives,” said Campion. “Each one of these young women has achieved a milestone. It is a milestone they need to be recognized for. We, at Ranger College, salute you for your accomplishment. To you, we say congratulations on a job well done.”

Crim. Miller, Taegel, Whitfield and Yarbrough were among 10 students to graduate from the Brownwood/Early Erath County campus. A total of 11 graduated from the Erath County campus in Stephenville.
