FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015, at East Side Baptist Church.

BURIAL: Ninevah Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Gloria Jean Dukes, age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, in Comanche, Texas.

She was born on June 7, 1927, in Comanche County, Texas, to Isaac William and Montie (Auvenshine) Keith. On March 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to L. L. “Shorty” Dukes, Jr. at Rock Bluff Church. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1986. Jean was devoted to her family and was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She loved to sing, had a beautiful voice, and sang at church and at weddings. Jean was a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Keith Dukes and wife Shirley of Comanche and Lynnwood Dukes and wife Rhonda of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Jared Dukes, Sara Meurer, Mikayla Dukes, L. D. Dukes, and Colton Dukes; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Connie Keith of Comanche, Larry Keith and wife Linda of De Leon, and Neeley Keith and wife Velda of Comanche; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frankie Keith; and sister, Elsie Jo Welch.
