THE GAMES

Missouri Western – Friday, Sept. 11, 9 a.m. CT

Tarleton is 1-1 all time against Missouri Western State, having swept the Griffons 3-0 during the last match in 2008.

Colorado-Colorado Springs – Friday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m. CT

Gallogly Events Center, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Tarleton has faced Colorado-Colorado Springs seven times with the TexAnns winning three. Tarleton last played UCCS in 2004 where the TexAnns won 3-2 at Wisdom Gym.

Western State Colorado – Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. CT

Massari Arena, Pueblo, Colo.

This will be the first-ever match between the two schools.

Colorado State-Pueblo – Saturday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m. CT

Massari Arena, Pueblo, Colo.

Tarleton defeated Colorado State-Pueblo in their only matchup 3-1 back in 2013. Seniors Meg Umbel and Kelsey Raglin were sophomores during the game and the only current TexAnns on the roster from the match.

LSC AWARDS

The Lone Star Conference recognized sophomore Hailey Roberts and senior Meg Umbel as the top offensive and defensive players, respectively. For Roberts, this marks the fourth LSC Offensive Player of the Week award in her short Tarleton career. It is the first award for Umbel.

LEADING THE LSC

Tarleton ranks first in the LSC in six categories: hitting percentage (.305), opponent hitting percentage (.090), opponents assists per set (9.12), opponent kills per set (9.71), blocks (43) and service aces per set (1.71). Hailey Roberts also leads the conference with 5.88 kills per set and Meg Umbel‘s 24 blocks tops all LSC players.

DOUBLE-DIGIT STREAK

Dating back to 2014, Hailey Roberts has recorded 10 or more kills in 12 straight games, including a career high 32 kills against Chadron State to open the 2015 season.

HOT START

Tarleton’s 5-0 start marks only the fourth time in program history where a team won at least its first five games. In 1986, Tarleton started 5-0 as an NAIA team; the 1999 team started 6-0 as part of the LSC and the 2010 team holds the school record after starting 9-0.

SCHINDLER’S COUNTDOWN TO 200

Mary Schindler, who is in her 11th season as the head coach of Tarleton, enters the weekend with 185 career wins as she moves closer to 200 all-time victories at the helm of the TexAnns. Schindler, who is the longest tenured coach in the history of the program, already owns the most wins by a coach in Tarleton history with 131 more wins than the next-highest coach, which was Larry Blackwell with 54 wins from 1989-91.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON

The TexAnns return home to take on Texas Wesleyan on Monday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.
