STEPHENVILLE (September 15, 2015) — Hailey Roberts is an offensive juggernaut and Lone Star Conference officials are quite aware.

Roberts, a sophomore outside hitter from Tarleton State, is the LSC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, according to a Tuesday release from the LSC office in Richardson.

Roberts knows you can’t slam home kill shots in record-setting numbers without a good setter, and Chandler Gow is just that. Good enough, in fact, that Gow, a sophomore from Mansfield, is the LSC Setter of the Week.

Tarleton swept NAIA Texas Wesleyan 25-14, 25-14, 25-15 at Wisdom Gym Monday, and begins conference play at Angelo State at 7 p.m. Wednesday in San Angelo.

OFFENSIVE

Roberts’ masterful beginning to the 2015 season has continued over the past week as the sophomore outside hitter improved on her incredible first week by blasting 119 kills in five games last week. Roberts added two more 30-kill performances to her resume, tying the school record for most 30-kill games in a career. In addition to her offensive onslaught, she landed her 119 kills with a .302 hitting percentage over the last five games as Tarleton improved to 8-2 on the season. She is leading the LSC in kills and kills per set, which she improved by landing 6.26 kills per set last week. She also had five assists, three ace, 63 digs, and nine blocks on the way to scoring 127.0 points for the TexAnns last week.

SETTER

Chandler Gow, Tarleton State University, SO, Mansfield, Texas, Mansfield HS

Gow continued to lead Tarleton into the win column last week as the sophomore setter helped the TexAnns improve to an 8-2 record with wins over Western State, Colorado State-Pueblo and Texas Wesleyan. The sophomore setter assisted on 235 kills in five games, which led to 12.37 assists per set and a .250 team hitting percentage. She set a new career high with 55 assists against Missouri Western State and recorded back-to-back 50-assist performances in Colorado over the weekend. She also recorded her third career double-double with 54 assists and 17 digs against Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday. She added nine kills, three aces, 39 digs, and eight blocks for the week.
