Parnell (whose long list of hits includes “Tender Moment,” “A Little Bit Of You,” “What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am,” “On The Road,” and “Love Without Mercy”) is looking to share his passion for the guitar music that is inherently tied to where he comes from.  Who better to share that with than the very source of this musical culture — the people of Texas.

With this concert, Parnell hopes to not only show his appreciation and love for his hometown, but also to help preserve and promote a great musical tradition.  This is the beginning of what will hopefully become an annual celebration of the great music and culture of Stephenville, and Texas as a whole.

Music lovers from Stephenville and the surrounding areas are encouraged to come out and show their support for a hometown boy and enjoy some hometown music.

“On October 10th, 2015, we return to the place where it all began,” Parnell said.  “Forty years ago (yep…forty), we booked our first live engagement at the Stephenville Rec Hall.  The beginning of a career making music for my friends all over the world.  I thought it only right that we bring this thing back home and so we are.  I see this hopefully turning into a long term engagement — a yearly celebration of Stephenville Music for the people who have supported it throughout the years.  This is EVERYONE’S HOMECOMING!!!  I’m just grateful for the chance to play once again for the folks who were there to support me from the beginning!”
