Services for Anna Murle Curtis, 98, homemaker, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2015, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Anna Murle was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on September 19, 1917, to Robert Lee and Ollie (Thomas) Curry. She married Loran M. Curtis on February 16, 1944, in Childress, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Chapel Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Anna Murle enjoyed working with her hands. Many including ladies in Peru and Mexico were blessed by her embroidered tea towels that they received as church mission gifts. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, camping, and loved to play card games & dominoes. She made all the clothes for her children as they were growing up.
Survivors include her daughters, Darlene & David Adcock of Stephenville, TX, and Melba & Dale Conner, of Toledo, OH; daughter-in-law, Maripat Curtis of Columbus, MS; eight grandchildren, Ann Johnson, Lora Crowe, Julie Folse, James Curtis, Deanna Downs, Debbie Kiernan, Allison Moyer, and Lee Conner; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Curtis, in 2000, and three siblings.
