(October 16, 2015) — Eight days ago, Hico was winless and desperate.
Friday night, the Tigers went to sleep as the favorite to win another district championship.
Hico used a pair of long Blake Hyles touchdown runs and a stalwart second half defensive effort to hold off Tolar 28-21 at Rattler Stadium Friday, its second straight win in 7-2A Division I.
Tolar, which had a four-game win streak snapped, scored twice on touchdown passes by former Stephenville quarterback Colby Trinkle.
It’s the second straight year Tolar seemed headed for a district title only to be tripped up by Hico. The Tigers scored in the final minute to beat the Rattlers last season.
