Stephenville – Services for Roy Wayne Carpenter, 85, Rural Mail Carrier, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Roy was born in Cromwell,Oklahoma on November 30, 1929 to Robert Lee Carpenter and Mattie Pearl Anderson. He married Genelle Bolding on December 17, 1950, in Slaton, Texas.
Roy was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Stephenville. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and the Rural Letter Carrier Association as a past State President and as a Chaplin.
He served in the United States Army in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Genelle Carpenter of Stephenville, 2 sons; David Carpenter and wife, Joni of Granbury, Daniel Carpenter and wife, Janice of Charlotte, NC, 3 daughters; Rebecca Caldwell and husband, Jerry of Stephenville, Denise Bearden and husband, Eddie of McKinney, TX, Melanie Murff and husband, George of Round Rock, TX, 1 sister; Christine Reynolds of Fresno, CA, 14 grandchildren; Pam Kang and husband, Andrew, Jeremy Caldwell and wife, Heather, Jonathan Caldwell, Toby Bearden and wife, Ashley, Nathan Bearden, Whitney Alsup and husband, Jay, Nicole Baker and husband, Zachry, Kristen Duncan and husband, Aaron, Eric, Leah, Athena, and William Murff, Bradley and Rachel Carpenter, 9 great-grandchildren; Jason and Joshua Kang, Lydia Caldwell, Zoe, Reese, and Bryce Alsup, Micah Baker, Callum and Asher Duncan.
