LINGLEVILLE (October 29, 2015) — Strawn built a 30-0 halftime lead then held off a second half charge by Lingleville, defeating the Cardinals 52-32 at Cardinal Field Thursday night.
Adrian Briseno carried the Cardinals for much of the second half, scoring three touchdowns to go with an interception return for a score by Chase Carlson to help Lingleville back within 38-32.
Strawn put the game away with an improbable touchdown catch on a tipped, juggled then caught pass down the Lingleville sideline, scoring a 40-yard touchdown on 4th and 20 to conclude the scoring with less than two minutes to play.

The only hope either has at a playoff shot is a Lingleville upset of May next week, which would create a three-way tie for second with 2-2 district records. Gordon secured outright possession of the 10-A Division I championship Thursday, concluding its undefeated regular season with a 54-50 win over May.
