(November 18, 2015) — Tim Griffin poured in 18 points and two others scored in double figures to lead Class A Lingleville to a 67-52 win over 4A Graham in a boys basketball opener Tuesday.

Lingleville built a 36-22 lead by halftime then maintained it behind the 8-13 shooting performance by Griffin plus 13 points from Jarod Hagood and 10 points, nine assists and six steals Colbe Stoker. The Cardinals shot 51 percent from the floor including 53 percent from outside the 3-point arc.

Lingleville stretched its advantage to 54-33 by the end of the third, sailing through their first game under new head coach Doug Galyean, a veteran of more than 900 games from Class A high school ball to junior college and back again. Lingleville travels to Graford for tournament play Thursday through Saturday.

Other scorers for the Cardinals were Sergio Rangel with eight, Devon Corpus five, Hendrick Huisman four, Bailey Fenn three and Tom Van Kranenburg three.
