ERATH COUNTY (December 22, 2015) — Erath County officials will celebrate Christmas this year by closing all county offices early on Thursday, December 24 and all day on Friday, December 25. Regular business will resume on Monday, December 28.

Both the city of Stephenville and the city of Dublin will close early on Thursday, Dec. 24 and all day on Friday, Dec. 25, reopening on Monday, Dec. 28, for regular business hours. There will be no trash pickup in either town or in the county on Christmas Day. Trash pickup will resume on the next regular pickup day.

While all area banks will be closed on Christmas Day, they will all be open, but closing early, on Christmas Eve and will reopen on their next regular business day (either Saturday or Monday). The United States Post Office will not deliver on Friday, December 25, but will deliver on Thursday, December 24, as well as Saturday, December 26.

Most local grocery stores will also be closed to allow their employees time to spend with their families. Brookshire Brothers in Dublin will close early on Christmas Eve and reopen for regular business hours on Saturday, Dec. 26. HEB in Stephenville will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will reopen for regular business hours on Saturday. Wal-Mart in Stephenville, which is usually open 24-hours, will close on Thursday night, at midnight and reopen on December 26.

Shops that will be open for business on Christmas Day include CVS, McDonald’s, Starbucks and most gas stations.

All area schools, including Tarleton State, will be closed for the holiday. Local public schools will be closed for the winter break. Tarleton offices will close at noon on Wednesday, December 23, and will reopen on Monday, January 4, for regular business hours.
