Weldon Ray Huston was born on November 15, 1933 in Tolar, Texas to Franklin and Olivia (McInroe) Huston. He went home on December 23, 2015 while at his earthly home in Dublin, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, in Stephenville, Texas. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory in Stephenville.Weldon graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1951 where he was co-captain for the football team and played quarterback. He also played on the baseball team where he made all-district shortstop his senior year.
Weldon met Lillie Mae (Sissie) Hickman while in high school and married the love of his life on March 29, 1952. They were happily married for over 63 years.
In 1952 they moved to Odessa, Texas where he began his career driving a truck for Postelle Drilling. He worked for Phillips Petroleum at the Goldsmith Gas Plant from 1954 – 1964, working his way from Roustabout to Engine Analyst. He then went to work for Valve Maintenance as Shop Foreman until he accepted the District Manager job at France Products in 1967. He became Regional Sales Manager in 1975. In 1976 he founded Compressor Components, Inc. In 1982 Compressor Components was acquired by the Dover Corporation where Weldon remained as President until resigning in 1987. He then relocated to Dublin to become a Rancher. In 1988 he started Weeco Industries, an air compressor repair company, in Ft. Worth. In 1999 he sold Weeco to Southern Parts and Engineering out of Georgia.
Weldon was a wonderful servant serving many people in many capacities. He has served as Deacon of his church for over 50 years, has taught Sunday School for many of those years, was a Gideon and served on numerous boards.
He was Chairman of The Board for Christian Women’s Job Corps/Dwelling Place in Dublin and President of the Board for Huston Academy, a charter school in Stephenville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Weldon is survived by his wife Sissie, daughter Deleen and husband Mike, sons Jeff and wife Carolyn, Randy and Keith. Nine grandchildren Travis, Luke, Brooke, Kristina, Trent, Trey, Keith, Daniel and Nathan. Seven Great-Grandchildren Autumn, Addilynn, Madie, Austin, Erin, Emma and Katie.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Happy Hills Farm for at risk young people in Granbury, TX, or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
