(December 29, 2015) — Stephenville got off to a strong start to tournament play in Bridgeport Tuesday morning, and avenged a playoff loss in the process.

The Yellow Jackets beat Iowa Park, 52-44, behind 16 points by Coby Vanden Berge and 13 by Zoey Kendall. Iowa Park eliminated SHS in the bi-district round of the 4A playoffs last spring.

Stephenville plays again at 7 p.m. against host Bridgeport, the reigning 4A state champ.

Stephenville also picked up 10 points from Easton Jones, ending a two-game skid that dates back to Dec. 12 thanks to the holiday break.

Other Yellow Jackets in the score column were Darian Brown with seven, Mason Yoes four and Cameron Frazier two.
