The family of Curtis Wayne Davis created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories. Share a memory below because a comforting word from you means a lot.

Curtis Wayne (Curly) Davis was born February 5, 1933 in Rockwall County to parents Lonnie Leon and Bessie Lorene (Daniels) Davis. He passed away on January 5, 2016 at the age of 82.
Curly proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. On Feb. 9, 1953, he married the love of his life, Mary Frances Reynolds, and together they raised two children. Curtis was self-employed, owning his own air conditioner and heating service business from 1955 to 1977, when he then moved Mary and their children to the Hico area where they purchased “Toegen Feedmill,” which later was renamed “Davis Feedmill.” He worked there until his retirement in 2005 from the family operation.
Curtis loved to work, both around the feed store and on the farm, plowing and planting crops, cutting and baling hay and tending to the cattle to provide for his family. He had accepted Christ early in his live and was a believer. His love for people was evident in his firm handshake, always having time to listen to and share stories, joking around and oh yes… those big bear hugs that he would lift your feet off the ground! All of which will be greatly missed.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Davis; daughter Wanda Naul and husband Larry; son Lonnie Davis and wife Cindy, all of Hico. Four loving grandsons, Jason Naul of Austin, Derek Naul and Alicia of Carlton, Kyle Davis and wife Katy of Hurst, Kaleb Davis and wife Brittany of Waco. Three precious great grandchildren, Aiden Naul, Nora and Mae Davis. One brother, Gary G. (Rabbit) Davis and wife Marida of Hico. Four sisters, Aldean Isaacs of Greenville; Doris Stephenson of Chandler; Charlene (Sissy) and husband Charles Northcutt of Ennis; and Elaine Smith of Farmersville. A host of nieces and nephews, as well as extended family, friends and co-workers.
Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Lorene and father Lonnie Leon Davis; his stepmother Maurene Fletcher; two brothers Jimmy (Wacker) Davis and Neubron (Red) Davis; two sisters, Nelda Smallwood Peoples and Karen White. Also an infant son, William Loyd Davis.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many caretakers at the Hico Care Center, the Solaris Hospice team, Dr. Craig and many others who faithfully cared for Curtis.
Memorial donations may be made to Hico FFA, Curtis Davis Memorial, PO Box 218, Hico, TX 76457.

Private Services were held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico.
