STEPHENVILLE (January 9, 2016) — The big sale to conclude the annual Erath County Junior Livestock Show was a big success Saturday evening at the Erath County Livestock Association Arena. Below you see all the grand and reserve champions that were purchased during the premium and floor auction to kick off the event. The “purchases” are actually donations, with the animals remaining in possession of the youth.
The family of Quincy Edwards was on hand at the sale, where their son, who passed away tragically in November. Edwards was heavily involved in FFA and the Erath County Junior Livestock Show. His two goats were shown by friends who also honored him during the show.
The grand champion from the medium wool light heavy weight class of lamb was shown by Kaitlin Chabot and purchased by Stephenville Evening Lions Club for $3,500.
AB Farm & Ranch purchased the grand champion heavyweight exotic steer shown by Kaylan Kiser for $4,000.
The grand champion from the dairy selling division was this senior yearling heifer shown by Alyson Phillips and purchased for $7,000 by Erath County Dairy Sales and ABF Packing.
Grand champion market swine honors went to this light heavyweight cross shown by Lexi Nelms. Hay & Feed Ranch purchased the champ for $3,500.
Cheyanne Carroll showed the grand champion goat, a medium weight that sold to KSTV FM Radio and Santo Propane for $3,000.
jadie Hargrove was all smiles after winning the title of reserve champion with this medium wool light heavyweight lamb that sold to H-E-B for $2,750.
Allissa Adams was proud to claim the championship in the poultry division. The roosters sold to a Reeser Law Firm for $2,750.
The reserve champion goat, a light medium weight shown by Wyatt Carrell, was purchased by Bruner Motors and F&M Bank for $3,000.
The reserve champioin full aged yearling heifer from the dairy selling division was shown by Makayla Osinga and purchased by Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo Committee, Tumbleweed BBQ and Comanche National Bank.
Bailey Fenn won reserve champion in the poultry division with these pullets that were purchased by Evening Lions Club and Rockin’ D Hydraulic Services for $2,000.
Sidney Love won reserve champion in the market swine division with this light medium weight cross. It was purchased by Kwik Car Oil & Lube for $2,500.
