STEPHENVILLE (February 6, 2016) — Apparently Stephenville (9-0-2) and Bridgeport are pretty evenly matched in boys soccer.
The teams reached a full time draw for the second time in a week at Lem Brock Field Friday, with a 1-1 score following the 2-2 draw in Bridgeport last Monday.
Noble Alexander faced 20 shots and saved all but one, even including a stunning block of a penalty kick in the 15th minute.
The game remained scoreless until the 51st minute, when Bridgeport finally broke through. Brady Alford scored the equalizer four minutes for later for Stephenville, and the defenses did the rest.
Stephenville has played 11 matches without a loss, winning their opening nine including one in a shootout in a tournament final. The Yellow Jackets are 8-0-3 in open play.
Stephenville will be idle 18 days before opening district action at home against Mineral Wells on February 23.
