This ceremony honors the legendary acts of selflessness exhibited by the four chaplains aboard the U.S. Army Transport Dorchester. February 3 marked the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the Dorchester. This day was declared by Congress as Four Chaplains Day because the four chaplains went down with the ship after giving their life jackets away to save other passengers.
