Theatre at Tarleton presents ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!’

STEPHENVILLE (February 18, 2016) — Theatre at Tarleton State University presents the musical You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown! Feb. 24 through 27 in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, high school students and faculty/staff, and $5 for Tarleton students with a valid ID. Tickets are available from 2 to 6 p.m. weekdays at the Fine Arts Center Box Office. For more information, call 254-968-9634.

Cast members for the musical are Tarleton music majors Bradley McKinney as Charlie Brown, Kayla Lincoln as Lucy, John Pollock as Linus, Channing Parker as Sally and Nate Early as Schroeder. Theatre major Alisha Sutton plays Snoopy, with Cheyenne Shreve acting understudy.

The performance is based on the popular cartoon strip, Peanuts, created by Charles Schultz that started in 1950 and ran thru 2000 shortly after Schultz’s passing. At its peak, Peanuts ran in 2,600 newspapers in 75 countries.

The book, music and lyrics are by Clark M. Gesner, with additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

The colorful, cartoon-style scenery is designed by Tarleton theatre major Emily Trinque, lighting by Tarleton Assistant Professor Prudence Jones and sound design by Jesus Rodriguez. Rounding out the crew are vocal director Dr. Heather Hawk, musical conductor Greg Ball, rehearsal pianist Dr. Iwao Asakura, choreographer Emily Burleson and director Carol Stavish.
