STEPHENVILLE (February 19, 2016) — Ever wonder how to figure speed at the site of a car crash?
Or perhaps you’ve been curious about how they do that animation in video games, why those firefighters are so willing to put their lives on the line every day or even what it takes to become a veterinarian.
All this and more was taught to Henderson Junior High at a career day Friday that filled virtually every classroom on campus with professionals from throughout the Stephenville community and beyond speaking to students.
Interior design, check. Engineering, check.
There was even a presentation on working at Disney and going to Disney College. Stephenville ISD superintendent Matt Underwood even pitched in with a presentation on being a school administrator. There’s musician Cody Gill, realtor Brandon Smith, interior designer Kaylee Pemberton, the list goes on.
The career day is being held in two sessions. The morning session continues until 11:30 a.m. with an afternoon session kicking off at 12:50 p.m.
Tonight at home, be sure to ask your HJH student what they want to be when they grow up. This time, be ready for more than a blank stare or incredulous response. You might just get reply with something realistic, something that now is a true goal.
