HUCKABAY (February 26, 2016) — Huckabay ISD knows how mark an occasion, and when the girls basketball team reaches the ‘Sweet 16’ for the first time in 10 years, the occasion deserves marking.
HISD did just that Friday with a spirited send off for the Lady Indians. School shut down briefly as students lined the walkway in front of the school, shaking hands, giving hi-fives, low-fives and hugs and waving signs bearing words such as “We Believe,” and “Your mom called, you left your game @ home.”

The Lady Indians pulled out of Huckabay at 9:45 a.m. They will have a brief practice later today on location at the Region III-A Girls Championship tournament. Game time against No. 5 Dodd City is 7 p.m. Friday at Mansfield High School.
