STEPHENVILLE (April 4, 2016) – Trapeze artists, performing poodles, high-stepping appaloosa stallions, daring motorcyclists, incredible elephants and comedic clowns. Carson & Barnes Circus – calling itself “The Real Circus” – rolls into Lone Star Arena Thursday for a one-night show organizers and attendees say will entertain the entire family.
“We had a great time at the Carson and Barnes Circus in Huntsville,” Sally Splawn Dowis posted in a Facebook review. The animals looked healthy and well too. The performers were exciting and well trained… Where else can you ride an elephant and see trapeze work without a net in our local area? Glad we went.”
Carson & Barnes is celebrating its 80th year of family-friend fun, which is presented in traditional “Big Top” style with Ringmaster Jairo Ojeda keeping the show moving at a rapid-fire pace.
Asian elephants are billed as the circus’s top performers, showing off under the direction of Armando Loyal. Returning favorites include Mexico’s Rosales Family, bringing four generations of circus tradition to the center ring with “Perilous Perch Pole Perfection.”

The Dominguez Extreme Riders display “motorcycling precision mixed with fearless fortitude,” while Miss Gabriella Cavallini delivers “breathtaking trapeze thrills while perched high in the air.”
Circus-goers are encouraged to start their adventure early with a stop at the Circus Midway, which offers an up-close glimpse of exotic animals – presented free of charge before the performance. Elephant and pony rides are available for a fee, as are other pre-show activities, refreshments and souvenirs.
Stephenville shows are set for 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., with midway activities open an hour prior to each performance.
