After the tour, we will head to the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center for lunch. The center is located at 1229 N US Highway 281 (northwest corner of Highway 281 and Highway 8, also called Lingleville Road).
After lunch we will hear from several different speakers on various subjects related to dairy management. Sam Feagley, AgriLife professor and State Soil Environmental Specialist from College Station, will give a presentation on Nutrient Management & Soil Analysis. Brent Auvermann, AgriLife Professor of Agriculture Engineering in Amarillo, will speak on Air Quality. And Sonja Swiger, AgriLife Livestock/Veterinary Entomologist from Stephenville, will discuss Pest Management. The program should end around 4 PM.
5 DOPA credits will be offered for dairies. 2 CEUs (1 IPM and 1 General) will be offered for private applicator license holders who attend the afternoon session.
