GRANBURY (April 11, 2016) – Tarleton continued its winning ways on the golf course to open up the Doc Housewright Invitational at Harbor Lakes Golf Course on Monday.
The TexAnns, who have won two straight tournaments, sit atop the leaderboard after shooting a 294 (+6). St. Mary’s is four strokes behind in second place at 298 (+10).
Isabel Jimenez-Perea is tied for second with a first-round score of 71 (-1). Jimenez-Perea, who is coming off a tournament win at the Mustang Intercollegiate, had a tournament-best 17 pars on the round. Allison Howarth from St. Mary’s shot a 69 (-3) to lead the way on the individual leaderboard.

Beatriz Prados and Sarah Gee each shot a 2-over-par 74 in the first round and are in a seven-way tie for seventh place. Prados carded 14 pars and Gee had three birdies on the round.
Casey Wild finished with a first-round score of 75 (+3). Wild recorded 14 pars on the round and is in a four-way tie for 14th place. Kerbey Kipp shot an 81 (+9) and had the second-most birdies for Tarleton with two.
The TexAnns will look to close out the regular season with their third straight tournament win when they tee off on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
