(April 12, 2016) — Bayleigh Chaviers headed up the best offensive attack in 4-4A girls soccer while Savannah Alford and Jordyn Howle anchored the top defense in the district.

Chaviers was voted District MVP, Alford Defensive MVP and Howle Goalkeeper MVP after leading Stephenville to a district championship and its first top seed from a district entering the playoffs. The Honeybees went on to make their second straight and third all-time appearance in a regional tournament and ‘Sweet 16.’

Other first-team honorees from Stephenville were seniors Erin Couch and Shelbey Wood, junior Kalee Wright and sophomore Karsyn Kimbrough, who suffered a torn ACL in the regional quarterfinal win over Brownwood. Stephenville also defeated Bridgeport and Pampa in the playoffs before falling to reigning state champ Kennedale.

Second-team picks from Stephenville were seniors Skylar Chipman, Mikayla Hobbs and Codi Beyer and junior Julie Morken. Making the honorable-mention list were Brooke Sanderford, Breanna Scroggins and Peyton Wood.

Coach Casey Weil shared Co-Coach of the Year honors in the league after leading the Bees to a 5-1 district mark.
