Services for June will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Stephenville Funeral Home.
June was born on June 6, 1926 in DeWitt, Iowa, to the late Bonnie and Jenny Swarner Knepper. She married Robert H. Walker on April 2, 1948 in DeWitt, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1998. June was a registered nurse and worked at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Stephenville, where she was Director of Nurses for many years. June lived in Stephenville for more than 60 years and attended First Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Stewart of Stephenville; son, Mike Walker and wife Pamela of Plano; granddaughters, Christy McElhaney and husband Ronnie of Midlothian, Kim Vest and husband Billy of Red Oak, and Rene Stewart of Huckabay; grandsons, Greg Stewart and wife Julie of Huckabay, Robert Walker and wife Caroline of Aubrey, and Ryan Wheatley of Kalispell, Montana; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dick Knepper and wife Silvia, and Jim Knepper.
Besides her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Walker; and a sister, Phyliss McGhee.
