Doris Marie Mullins Ward, age 92, of Spring, Texas, passed away July 4, 2016. She was the youngest child of Robert Irby and Cora Alena Piercey Mullins. Doris was born in Humboldt, Tennessee on October 18, 1923. She married Aaron F. Ward in 1942 and they returned to his hometown of Dublin, Texas. They were married 62 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star #55, Page, Arizona. Doris was an avid Bridge player, belonging to several Bridge Clubs. Her second hobby was metal detecting as a member of Montgomery County Artifact Recovery Club. She and her husband Aaron enjoyed many years of traveling and camping with the Good Sams Motor Home Club.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Aaron, beloved son Larry, sisters Vera Hollis, Tessie Christie, and brother Joe Louis Mullins. Also, her brother-in-law Gene Ward, who was very special to her.
Doris is survived by her daughter Lynn Knotts and husband Billy, son Lee Ward and wife Pam, granddaughters Sandra Harper and husband Jay, Lorrie Wagner and husband Jeff, Jennifer Jones and husband Chris, and Stephanie Gonzales and husband Michael. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: JC, Joey & Kaitlynn, Sophia & Annie, Riley & Liam and Sebastian & Logan, and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
