Services for Gay Lenita Chitty, 84, homemaker, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Gay was born in Turkey, Texas, on April 19, 1932, to James Valentine Mohon and Olga Olivia (Meacham) Mohon. She married Roy Norman Chitty on April 6, 1951, in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2010.
She was a member of Harvey Baptist Church, Eastern Star #802, and the NCO Wives Association.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Chitty and wife, Carol L., of Sugarland, TX, and Roy Chitty and wife, Connie, of Arlington, TX; brother, Vic Mohon and wife, Jane, of Whitney, TX; six grandchildren, Michael Chitty, II, Heather Chitty, Ethan Chitty and wife, Katie, Ryan Chitty and wife, Lauralee, Austin Chitty, and Annaliese Chitty; grandson-in-law, James Foster, seven great-grandchildren, Reese, Logan, Zoe, Kaylen, Harper, Declan, and Sawyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alana Chitty Foster.
