FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel

BURIAL: Gardens of Memory Cemetery

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 17.

Robert Ray Wilson, age 78, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on December 2, 1937 in Rising Star, Texas, to Curtis and Mary Ruth (Richards) Wilson. On October 16, 1999, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Marshall in Comanche, Texas. As an economist, he worked his first year at Texas A&M followed by 26 years in Washington DC for the federal government. He also served as an assistant professor at Texas A&M for four years. He was a member of the Hope Masonic Lodge of Comanche; a member of the Armstrong Lodge of DeLeon; a member of the Order of Eastern Star in DeLeon; a member of the Fort Worth Scottish Rite; and a member of the San Angelo Shrine. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Comanche, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Marshall Wilson, of Comanche; daughter, Judy Nell Wilson of Lewisville; son, Robert Ray Wilson, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; step-son, Marshall Jack Pyburn of DeLeon; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mary Ruth (Richards) Wilson and two brothers; Curtis Lambert Wilson, Jr. and Sammy John Wilson.
