Stephenville had multiple state champion teams and individuals crowned at last week’s Texas Future Farmers of America State Convention. State champions were awarded $1,000 scholarships, with SHS reeling in a total of $7,000. All this in addition to Conner McKinzie being named Texas FFA First Vice President. Placing teams from Stephenville include:
Shaelyn Rainey, state finalist, STAR Greenhand Agriscience
Riley McKinzie, state finalist, STAR Chapter Agriscience
Micah Rainey, state champion, $1,000 scholarship, Star Lone Star Agriscience
Jake Bagby and Reese Wilson, 1st place team, $1,000 scholarship, Animal Systems
Riley McKinzie and Micah Rainey, 1st place team, $1,000 scholarship, Power Systems
Morgan McKinzie, 1st place individual, $1,000 scholarship, Social Systems
Luke Weber, 1st place individual, $1,000 scholarship, Animal Systems
Shaelyn Rainey, 3rd place individual, Environmental Services/Natural Resources
All first place teams will be submitting their reports for competition at the national level. The national convention will be in Indianapolis in October.
