Three Erath athletes top world rodeo standings

(July 20, 2016) — Athletes from Erath County are first in the world in three of eight PRCA events, including team ropers Luke Brown and Jake Long and reigning world champion saddle bronc rider Jacobs Crawley, a Stephenville native living in Boerne. If the regular season ended today, 12 local cowboys would be packing for the trip to Las Vegas for the 2016 National Finals Rodeo. The standings are sure to be shaken up again with California Rodeo Salinas and Cheyenne Frontier Days this week and next, respectively, along with other big rodeos along the way. Here’s a look at local athletes in the top 50 of their respective PRCA events:
