Driggers, Sterling Crawley win Spanish Fork, Jacobs Crawley ties for top spot at Ogden

STEPHENVILLE (July 26, 2016) — Stephenville header Kaleb Driggers and heeling partner Junior Nogueira are still on a roll, climbing all the way to No. 3 in the PRCA team roping world standings after winning the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo and taking second at the Ogden Pioneer Days.

Driggers and Nogueira won almost $10,000 each at the two Utah rodeos, pocketing more than $6,000 at Spanish Fork and $3,500 at Ogden. At Spanish Fork they were second in 4.5 seconds in the first go, and seventh in 4.8 in the second round.

Driggers trails only Luke Brown of Stephenville and Clay Smith of Broken Bow, Oklahoma in the world standings. Driggers has won $65,175.30 on the season. Stephenville header Colby Lovell is sixth at $58,830.56.

Brown has stretched his lead over Smith to almost $8,000 after winning the first round at Spanish Fork in 4.2 seconds, good for more than $2,300.

Sterling Crawley won the Spanish Fork Saddle bronc riding and $5,612 with 88.5 points aboard Frontier Rodeo’s Delta Force. Crawley jumped to 11th in the world standings, where his brother, Stephenville native and Boerne resident Jacobs Crawley is first in defense of his first world championship in the event. Jacobs tied for the top spot in Ogden, scoring 88 points on Three Hills Rodeo’s Final Feather for $4,459.

Sterling Smith of Stephenville was second in the first round and tied for second in the average at Spanish Fork, earning more than $5,200.
