Tarleton English professor authors first book, ‘Migratory Words’

STEPHENVILLE (September 8, 2016) — Tarleton State University Associate Professor of English Dr. Moumin Quazi has published his first book, Migratory Words, a collection of short stories and poetry that will surprise readers with its humor, range and poignancy.

The collection, published by Literary Press at Lamar University, is a multi-genre paean to his experience as the son of an immigrant who married a woman from Colorado.

In addition to teaching courses for the Department of English & Languages at Tarleton, Quazi serves as director of graduate studies in English within the College of Liberal & Fine Arts. He is the president of the South Asian Literary Association, the Conference of College Teachers of English and Texas College English Association.

Quazi also edits CCTE Studies and the Peter Lang book series, “South Asian Art, Literature and Culture Studies.” He co-edits Langdon Review of the Arts in Texasand co-directs the annual Langdon Review Weekend with Dr. Marilyn Robitaille. His writing appears in such journals as Concho River Review, Red River Review andSouth Asian Review.
