FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Comanche.

BURIAL: Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 14.

LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at First United Methodist Church following the funeral services.

Florence Lucille O’Brien passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016.

She was born on May 23, 1924, in Tye, Texas to Kieffer and Henrietta Evans Johnson. Lucille worked at Consolidated in Fort Worth, which later became General Dynamics, as “Rosie” the riveter during World War II. Later, she moved back to Comanche and worked at the cookie factory. On February 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to her best friend, Hugh Monselle O’Brien in Fort Worth, Texas, and became a homemaker, mother of five, and whatever was required to be the wife of a farmer/rancher. Lucille was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Comanche.

She is survived by her five daughters: Nancy Isham of Comanche, Karen Coplen and husband Roy of Comanche, Christy Fitzsimmons and husband Patrick of Plano, Susan Graham and husband Rick of Comanche, and Becky O’Brien of Comanche; grandchildren, Grant Hicks, Haley Oyler and husband Eric, Chance Isham and wife Jennifer, Brent Coplen and wife Aimee, Aaron Kennedy and wife Molly, Garret Kennedy and wife Sharla, Sara Fitzsimmons, Cooper, Kirbi, and Naomi Daniel, Whytnee Subblefield and husband Chris, Ryan Graham and wife Randi, LaShay McKeel and husband Jakob, Jay McDanel, and Shawna Jones and husband Terry; great-grandchildren: Kylena Hicks, Cole and Hugh Oyler, Ava Isham, Clark and Lincoln Coplen, Jadyn, Jillian and Laike Kennedy, Lanae Kennedy, Vahn Phillips, Vali and Cameron Fields, Lillian, MaKenna and Kyle Graham, Peyton Lynch and Kyla Luna, and Everett McKeel; great-great-grandchildren, Natalie Phillips and Layla Allen; brother JC Johnson and wife Marie, and many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved dog, Pepper.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Monselle O’Brien, and parents, Kieffer and Henrietta Johnson.
