Reisman promotes four in athletic administration

STEPHENVILLE – Athletic Director Lonn Reisman announced four promotions within the athletics department Friday morning.

Troy Jones, who is in his 19th year with Tarleton Athletics, will move from his current role at Assistant Athletic Director for Operations will now be reclassified as the Associate Athletic Director while Adam Deimling, Nate Bural, and Byron Anderson are being made Assistant Athletic Directors for Sports Medicine, Athletic Communications, and Athletic Development and Promotions, respectively.

“All of these individuals are very experienced in their respective fields and are extremely deserving of their new titles,” said Reisman. “They have shown tremendous dedication to Tarleton Athletics and their work ethic is outstanding. Each one of them, in their respective fields, is a large part of what makes our athletic department so successful. Their works in their respective areas go a long way in helping our programs reach a championship level, as well as giving our student-athletes national visibility. I am very proud of the work ethic and commitment to Tarleton that each of them have shown.”

Jones has spent the last seven years as an assistant athletic director under Reisman and has taken on fundraising responsibilities in addition to his role in maintaining the facilities and operations. He graduated from Tarleton in 1992 and started working for the athletic department in 1998 after spending five seasons as a high school teacher and coach. Jones and his wife, Pam, currently reside in Stephenville with their three children – Kelcee, Easton, and Dylan.

Deimling, a native of Hartland, Michigan, is in his third season as the head athletic trainer for Tarleton. After graduating from the University of Auburn with his master’s degree in 2009, Deimling spent five seasons with Stetson University in DeLand, Florida before making the move to Stephenville. He resides in town with his wife, Rachel, who is the head athletic trainer for the baseball and softball programs at Tarleton.

Bural will become the first sports information director at Tarleton to earn the Assistant Athletic Director title. The Alvarado native started at Tarleton in 2011 as the assistant director for athletic communications before making the move to director in July 2014. He has won multiple awards for media guide publications and the 2013 Fred Stabley Writing Contest presented by CoSIDA. He resides in Stephenville and is engaged to marry Jessica McKamy in January.

The newest member of the athletic department, Byron Anderson, has officially moved into his primary administration role of Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Promotions. Anderson, a former baseball standout for Hall of Fame coach Jack Allen, came back to Tarleton in August and has started serving in his secondary role as the Voice of the Texans. He currently resides in Keller with his wife, Mary, and two children, Bronson and Brylee.
