Honeybees ace venus with ease

STEPHENVILLE (October 18, 2016) — Stephenville strolled through its 8-4A road match at Venus Tuesday, 25-12, 25-8, 25-10, to remain alone in second place in the district.

The Honeybees, already in secure control of a playoff spot, host Midlothian Heritage at 5 p.m. Friday.

Leading the way at Venus was Nicona Stilwell with 11 kills, four aces and three solo blocks. Chloe Goodman added six kills, while Taylor Garber, Ashton Garner, and Faith O’Brien added three each.

Sierrah Martinez came in to serve three of Stephenville’s 14 aces to just five total service errors. Goodman, Hailey Martin and Jayci Morton each aced two serves. Martin also had 17 digs and Garber collected 11 assists with Martinez and Hannah Huckabee each adding eight assists.
