STEPHENVILLE (November 3, 2016) — For its second production of the 2016-17 season, Theatre at Tarleton presents the famous Shakespearean comedy, “Twelfth Night,” a wildly improbable, hugely entertaining fantasy.

The play opens Tuesday, Nov. 8, and continues each night through Nov. 12. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater. Admission is $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens, students, and faculty and staff (with a valid Tarleton); and $5 for Tarleton students with ID.

William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” tells the tale of fraternal twins, Viola and Sebastian, separated in a strange new land. Having survived a shipwreck and believing her brother Sebastian has been lost, Viola disguises herself as a man out of necessity. Cast adrift in the unfamiliar country of Illyria, Viola tumbles hopelessly in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia.

In a hilarious twist of fate, Countess Olivia, thinking Viola is a man, falls in love with her, completing this love triangle. Time eventually sorts it all out, but not before Viola and everyone around her are bewitched and bewildered as they navigate the highway of love and life.4210
