CONTRIBUTED TO THE FLASH

ERATH COUNTY (November 5, 2016) –  The Erath County DAVA & DAV #234 chapters are working on a “Boots on the Ground” project for the Fall 2016.

Items will be collected and sent to the troops in Afghanistan/ Iraq to help comfort them and let them know we are there for them in all ways.  Attached is a list of items that may be collected and dropped off at the local DAV office and packaged to be sent in partnership with a current military person who will help distribute the items to our troops.

The DAVA & DAV will be working with local schools and others to see some personal touches are also added to the packages.  Letters, notes, and comfort items can help someone who is far away from home.  Please take time to review the list, let me know if there are things that need to be added to the list, and talk to others about maybe joining in this worthwhile project.

Thank You for All Your Help

CARDS & LETTERS:
The troops love to hear from all of us and mail brightens their days! These are the MOST IMPORTANT items we can send our troops & we can never have too many, so please keep writing! Consider making a patriotic banner or poster to send inside one of our care packages! Letters of encouragement from school classes, group and individual are also good.
