STEPHENVILLE (November 11, 2016) – Harold Daniel, his family and friends are all gearing up for their fourth annual Turkey Chew as folks from the Hico and Stephenville area show some country hospitality to the homeless in Lancaster.

“We have a goal to feed a Thanksgiving dinner to 200 people this year,” Daniel said. “The first couple of years we drove around and found people and fed them.”

Things have grown from humble beginnings for Daniel and his groups which included 27 volunteers last year. Last year the group received the use of a parking lot, table and chairs and fed 75 people.

This year the group is paired up with WhenWeLove.org that has a park contract and is allowing the Turkey Chew to set up for dinner there this year.

Currently, Daniel is seeking volunteers and donations to help out with this year’s event.

“Our dinner menu calls for turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed ‘taters’, pea salad, dessert and drinks,” Daniel said. “WhenWeLove.org has already volunteered to help serve up the drinks.”

To volunteer or to donate items for the fourth annual Turkey Chew contact Daniel at 254-796-4116 or 254-592-3994. Donations are needed by Friday, November 18.
