FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 am. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Dublin, Texas.

VISITATION: 6:00 TO 8:00 pm. Friday, November 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Dublin, Texas.

INTERNMENT: 2:30 pm. Saturday in the Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Ernest Allen Sims was born April 15, 1924 in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. He went to be with his LORD on November 16, 2016 in Dublin at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 1 day. He was the son of William Claude Sims and Mattie Caldonia (Boswell) Sims. He was united in marriage to Leveta Mae Bramlet on August 11, 1946 in Graham, Texas and to this union 3 children were born. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers – William Cleveland & James Bryant Sims.

Ernest is survived by his wife – Leveta Sims of Dublin, Texas; his son – Dr. Cliff Sims & wife, Denise of Dublin, Texas; his daughters & sons-in-law – Darla & Kenneth Cannon of Robinson, Texas and Donna & Steve Benton of Alvarado, Texas; 9 grandchildren & step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Ernest was a retired teacher for the Mineral Wells High School for 35 years teaching the business classes “DE”; a veteran of W. W. II in the U. S. Navy; a Weather Watcher for the Civil Defense; a Little League Player Agent, and a press box manager at Mineral Wells High School Football Games. He was a very active member of the Mineral Wells Baptist Church, before moving to Dublin, where he taught the Young Men’s Bible Class, was a trustee, deacon and served on various other committees in the Mineral Wells Baptist Church and was a dedicated blood donor.
