STEPHENVILLE (November 17, 2016) – Obadiah Jacobs openly admits to smoking weed and flashing Benjamins ($100 bills) on Facebook. He also has no problem maintaining a public profile, “Obadiah ‘Thegreat’ Jacobs,” showing photos of his stash and cash.

But, sources say, the 29-year-old Stephenville resident told authorities he knew nothing about using or selling drugs.

Jacobs was arrested on Wednesday for possession of a dangerous drug, as the result of local narcotics investigation which began in September, according to Sgt. Sha King with the Stephenville Police Department.

King said Jacobs, who is reportedly on disability, allegedly sold prescription drugs from his Frey Street residence. His previous employment includes a stint at the Waffle House, according to his Facebook profile.

Despite the suspect’s apparent consumption of marijuana, King said narcotics officers only referenced the illegal distribution of prescription medication.

“There is nothing in the report related to possession or distribution of marijuana,” King said.

Jacobs was also arrested on a theft warrant out of Tarrant County, which is related to alleged theft of $2,500 to $30,000 in the city of Arlington.

Each charge is a state jail felony carrying a potential sentence of 180 days to two years in a state jail, unless the charges are enhanced by prior convictions.

King did not provide information on Jacobs’ criminal history, but Public Data shows a number of charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.
