STEPHENVILLE (November 28, 2016) – While her TexAnns prepare for their third consecutive NCAA playoff appearance, Tarleton head volleyball coach has announced the signing of Granbury star Amber Strange to a National Letter of Intent.
“Amber is going to make an immediate impact for us,” said Schindler. “She is a tremendous player who has the ability to score. She has a heavy arm swing and a solid block that will make her a force in this conference. I have loved watching her play and I’m looking forward to having her on my side of the net and wearing the Purple and White. I’m so excited to have her.”

Strange is coming off a district MVP season in which she led her Granbury Pirates to the 9-5A District championship.
In her varsity career, Strange is a three-time academic all-district selection as well as a three-time first team all-district player. As a freshman in 2013, she was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year and is a two-time all-state selection. She was also named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Phenom List in 2014.
She becomes the first member of Tarleton’s 2017 recruiting class.
The TexAnns have qualified for their third consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament after going 24-5 in the regular season, en route to a second-place conference finish. They won two games of the Lone Star Conference Tournament to advance to their third straight tournament championship, as well. Tarleton boasts a record of 77-21 over the last three seasons for a winning percentage of .786, which is the highest of any three-year period in school history.
