Vocial Tennyson, 94, of Stephenville, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 in Stephenville.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the chapel at Stephenville First Baptist Church.

Vocial was born on June 11, 1922 in Lamesa, Texas, to the late William Granville and Annie Lee Phillips Truitt. She married Savoy Lee Tennyson on August 7, 1941 on the football field in Lamesa. Vocial worked as a homemaker, secretary, and bookkeeper. She had resided in Stephenville since 1968 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stephenville.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Boucher of El Cajon, California; daughter-in-law, Jodee Lambert Tennyson of Stephenville; grandchildren, Ricky Tennyson and fiancé Gina Rae Reeves, Chris Dunn and wife Terri Ann, Star Stevens and husband Wes, Bryon Dunn and wife Rachel, Benjamin Boucher and wife Anna, and Eric Dunn and wife Tasha; siblings, Dubbie Truitt, Sammie Robinson, and Peggy Beck and husband Jerry; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Truitt, Charlene Brink, and Marita “Bo” Jackson; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Savoy Tennyson; daughter, Carolyn Tennyson; son, Terry Lee Tennyson; great-grandson, Baciel Stevens; brothers, Phillip Truitt, and Charles “Brother” Truitt; sister-in-law, Jackie Truitt; and brothers-in-law, “Doc” Robinson, and Charlie Brink.
