FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday.

BURIAL: Downing Cemetery in Comanche County.

LUNCH: Family will have lunch at East Side Baptist Church at 12:00 Noon on Saturday.

MEMORIALS: If desired memorials may be made to East Side Baptist Church Building Fund, 207 FM 3381, Comanche, Texas 76442.

Jerry Wayne Hulsey, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016, in Stephenville, Texas.

He was born on September 20, 1930, in Comanche County, Texas, to Claude and Sarah Mae (Wilson) Hulsey. On January 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Joyceleen Louise Cox in Comanche, Texas. Jerry was a loving and dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a strong work ethic. He was employed by Red Arrow Freight Line for thirteen years, where he worked as Mechanic Supervisor for heavy equipment. He served as a police officer for the City of Comanche for five years and as a Comanche County Deputy Sheriff for two years. After leaving the Sheriff’s Office, he worked for six years as a heavy equipment operator for the H.B. Zachary Company. Jerry was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, camping at Lake Proctor, and he enjoyed listening to blue grass music. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Joyceleen Louise Hulsey of Comanche; six grandchildren: Christi Fuchs, Jeff Hulsey, John Hulsey, Xavier Hulsey, Jeremy Hulsey, and Josh Hulsey: nine great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Dee Hulsey and wife Karen of Boise, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Wayne Hulsey and Kenneth Don Hulsey; two Brothers, John Doyle Hulsey and James Quana Hulsey; and his parents, Claude and Sarah Mae Hulsey.
