Stephenville – Services for Opal Cupples, 91, a homemaker and home builder, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29th, at First United Methodist Church in Gordon, Texas with Dr. Starr Bowen officiating.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 28th at Lacy Funeral Home.
Burial: Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, December 30th in Monroe, Louisiana.
Opal was born in Jennie, Arkansas on May 3, 1925 to Fanny (Burgess) and Oscar Jimison. She married Wiley Raymond Cupples in 1991, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2009.
In 2013, Opal moved to Stephenville from Austin.
She was a member at the First Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas and was also a lifetime member of the PTA.
Survivors include her children, Dee Bettcher of Dripping Springs, Texas, Virginia Zubik of Gordon, Texas and special friend, Mel Johnson, and Betty Elaine Helms of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Dan DuPree, Catherine DuPree, Lois Kubo, Nola Reay, Andy Zubik and wife, Lindy, Aaron Zubik and wife, Stacy, and Jason Zubik; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
