STEPHENVILLE (December 25, 2016) — Lonn Reisman won his first game as head coach at Tarleton State on November 8, 1988.

Now with 624 wins in his 29th season at Tarleton, Reisman is stalking yet another milestone as he approaches 400 home wins at Wisdom Gym.

Reisman picked up victory No. 397 inside the friendly confines of the gym named for long ago coach W.J. Wisdom. The next three home games are December 31 against Ouachita Bapitst (Ark.), January 10 against Texas A&M-Commerce and January 14 versus Arlington Baptist College. January 14 is the earliest Reisman can achieve 400 home wins as head coach.

It all began with a buzzer beater for a 72-71 win over Mary-Hardin Baylor in Reisman’s first season in Stephenville. His most recent home win was a 106-54 thrashing of Southwestern Adventist on December 14, part of an eight-game win streak for the No. 15 Texans, who are 4-0 and alone in first in the Lone Star Conference.

The Texans won a pair of games in Las Vegas entering the Christmas break, defeating Simon Fraser (BC), 88-63, and No. 12 Western Washington, 84-83, in the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic. LSC teams Tarleton, No. 19 West Texas A&M and No. 8 Angelo State combined to go 6-0 in the two-day classic.

Reisman and the Texans follow the New Year’s Eve home battle with Ouachita Baptist with conference road tests at ASU on January 5 and at Texas A&M-Kingsville on January 7.
